Ryan Reaves and Evander Kane renew their rivalry 10 minutes into the game.

The National Hockey League has seen a ton of amazing duos over it's long history, Mario Lemieux and Jaromir JagrWayne Gretzky and Mark Messier, just to name a few, but there may never have been a duo quite as special as the one formed by Las Vegas Golden Knights forward Ryan Reaves and San Jose Sharks forward Evander Kane.

The two men have have had a unique distaste for one another for quite some and that was once again on full display on Saturday afternoon when the Sharks and Golden Knights faced off yet again. Fans who were hoping to see the two renew their rivalry didn't have to wait long in this one as it was no less than 10 minutes into the game before officials had to step in and send both men to the box.

Now normally this would have been the end of it, but thankfully for once covid has actually resulted in something positive coming to the NHL. Following a number of outbreaks among teams across the league, the NHL made a decision to remove the glass behind penalty boxes. This has had the unintended consequence of allowing players to lean out the back of the box, and yell down the way to the other player who can clearly hear them with his own penalty box wide open.

Reaves, who had been actively working to get under the skin of his hated nemesis for the entire 10 minutes prior to the penalty, continued to do so from the penalty box as he yelled at Kane. Kane fired back some words of his own and, although there were no microphones picking up what they were saying, I'm pretty sure I read more than a few f-bombs coming off of his lips.

Then again who knows what was really being said? Maybe I've completely misjudged Ryan Reaves here and he was actually being really nice. For all I know Reaves was merely offering to give Kane some financial advice.

Here is a second angle of the interaction between the two best friends. It was from this camera angle that I believe I was able to read some colorful language coming from Evander Kane.
