Nick Ritchie and Brendan Lemieux drop the gloves after the final buzzer!

The bad blood between these two could very well carry over into their next meeting.

On Sunday afternoon the Boston Bruins and the New York Rangers faced off in a matchup that saw both teams coming into the game without some of their key players. In the case of the Bruins they were without both David Krejci and Kevan Miller and of course the Rangers were without Artemi Panarin in the lineup following the controversy involving him this week

Despite the fact that both teams were missing some key players this one was never really close with the Bruins taking a commanding lead early and never really relenting. It was perhaps for this reason that when the final buzzer had sounded tensions boiled over between the two teams, specifically between New York Ranger Brendan Lemieux and Boston Bruin Nick Ritchie.

It was clear that both of these men had decided to drop the gloves prior to the final face off which occurred with less than 3 seconds left on the game clock, and as soon as that final pucked was dropped the gloves came off.The game was technically over with the final horn blowing before these two had locked up, there was simply no way that these two guys were going to relent.

There was nothing left to play for but both Ritchie and Lemieux gave it their all in this one and put on one hell of a show for the fans who tuned in for the entire game, in spite of the fact that it never truly felt close.
