Brad Marchand rips Tom Wilson's 'bulls*** hit.'

There are a lot of fans waiting, with a great deal of anticipation, for the National Hockey League's ruling on the hit that was delivered by Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson on Friday. It was a hit that sent Boston Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo to the hospital in an ambulance, and there has been a huge divide in opinions on the hit itself and what kind of discipline it warrants.

Although the NHL itself has not yet made a decision, several people involved in the situation have already begun to make their feelings known. NHL insider Frank Seravalli has drawn a ton of flak for his stance on the hit, suggesting that it did not violate league rules, and even Capitals head coach Peter Laviolette has commented on this one indicating that he believes Wilson should not be suspended

Those are of course just two opinions out of many and you'll notice that they both lean on the side of Wilson being innocent. This would not be much of a controversy if everyone agreed however, and one player that clearly feels differently is notorious Bruins agitator Brad Marchand. Marchand was asked for his thoughts on the play immediately following the incident on Friday night, and to suggest that he didn't hold back would be quite the understatement. Marchand went off on a profanity laced tirade, this in spite of knowing that he was live on the air, probably a tactic meant to show the fans at home just how upset he was with this hit.

"You knew it was gonna be a good game," began Marchand before launching into his tirade. "That was bulls*** hit, you know Brando had his head down in the corner and he took a liberty on a guy that was in a vulnerable spot. That's a f***ing cheap shot there and you know we lost a great player. It is great to see him skate off the ice by himself but he's obviously in a bad spot and he's hurting and that's a bad hit."

Although Carlo did technically leave the ice on his own two feet, he had to be helped all along the way by two members of the Bruins training staff and was eventually transported to hospital in an ambulance. It was no surprise as a result to hear that Marchand was so emotional following this one, and you can hear his comments in his own words below.
