Washington Capitals defenseman Zdeno Chara won’t get the warm welcome he deserves in Boston on Wednesday night, as the Bruins aren’t allowed to have fans in attendance for the return of their former captain, however the veteran player got a huge boost of confidence nonetheless ahead of the contest.

Chara, who signed with the Capitals as a free agent back in December, he barely had time to get everything ready for this new chapter in Washington. And so, he and his wife decided the family would stay behind in Boston.

And on Tuesday, Chara was reunited with his wife and three kids, and we bet this is the biggest boost he could get ahead of the game against the Bruins tomorrow.

“I was able to see my family, my kids. It was really nice to see them after a long time and be a dad for one day again,” Chara told the media on Tuesday.

Chara has stayed in touch with them through FaceTime, however, this time in person was much needed and priceless.

“Well I think we’re trying to do our best with the technology that we have available these days. Obviously with FaceTime and phone technologies, you can be in touch daily and a number of times if needed,” Chara said. “But it’s different, not being with them at home. But those are the sacrifices we talked about before I made a decision, and so far it’s been working. Like I said, it was nice to see them last night.”

We bet Chara will want his family to know their sacrifices count so much to him and will look to get the win for the Capitals with them in mind.

Watch out!
