Worrisome update on Jujhar Khaira straight from Oilers!

Uh oh… not sure this is great…

On Monday night, a scary scene took place in the first period of the game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Edmonton Oilers. Fans have since been wondering how Jujhar Khaira and it is easy to understand why…

Khaira took a big hit from Habs’ Alexander Romanov during the first period and was visibly wobbly skating off the ice. He clearly had no clue what had just happened, despite the hit being clean. Teammate Ethan Bear steadied Khaira and he attempted to make his way to the bench, which he managed to get to with the help of officials…

On Tuesday, head coach Dave Tippett provided an update that got several fans worried as he mentioned that he spoke with Khaira, who was in high spirits and was feeling good.

There is no timetable for his return and we hope Tippett will keep him away from the ice as long as possible to fully recover.

We all know what happened earlier this season: Khaira has been visibly woozy on the ice after a fight with Calgary Flames’ Brett Ritchie last month.

Two concussions in a month should have Tippett less excited about Khaira getting back and more focused on his health.

Let’s hope that the Oilers learned from his previous head trauma and allow him all the time he needs to get better.
