Viktor Arvidsson calls out his former team after being traded.

Trades and transactions can be some of the most exciting aspects of being a sports fan, with every move potentially altering the fate of your favorite franchise or even potentially your favorite players. For players though it can be quite a difficult time, especially for veteran players that have established roots in a specific part of the world and suddenly find themselves uprooted and forced to move their entire lives.

That is what happened to veteran National Hockey League forward Viktor Arvidsson at the end of this season following a disappointing playoff run from his now former team the Nashville Predators. It seems clear that after another failed run the Predators are looking at making significant changes to their roster and Arvidsson was the first domino to fall when, earlier this month, he was traded to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a second round pick at the 2021 NHL Entry Draft and a third round pick at the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.

It was obviously a difficult moment for Arvidsson and for his Predators teammates. Teammates Filip Forsberg and Ryan Johansen both expressed their frustration with the move via their social media accounts.

Now Arvidsson has expressed some frustration of his own and although he admits he had a tough season he feels that he was misused by the team that has now decided it no longer needs his services. Speaking with Predators insider Adam Vingan, Arvidsson called out the Predators for not utilizing his tool kit to its full potential.

"I feel like I didn’t get seen as the all-around player I was, at the end of the day," said Arvidsson as per The Athletic. "That’s my honest truth about it. I feel like I need to get that off my chest. I didn’t play the PK. I didn’t play in all situations, which I did for the last six years, and I didn’t for this year. I didn’t play the PK. I didn’t play 5-on-6 and so on. I think I can contribute in all those areas."

Arvidsson now believes that he will be able to bring that complete tool kit to the Los Angeles Kings and showcase the skills that the Predators either overlooked this season or mismanaged in Arvidsson's eyes.
