The Vegas Golden Knights are going to be looking to build off their dominant 4-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens Monday night at T-Mobile Arena in Game 1 of their round three Stanley Cup Playoff series.

And while the venue known affectionately by Golden Knights fans as "The Fortress" is one of the hottest tickets in town, that's a phrase that we can take literally tonight.

Thanks to some record-setting temperatures, tonight's Game 2 between the Golden Knights and Canadiens is going to be the highest outdoor temperature ever recorded during an NHL game.

The previous record was set during the 2012 Western Conference Finals between the Los Angeles Kings and Phoenix Coyotes in Glendale, Arizona. The temperature then? A whopping 107.6 degrees Fahrenheit. This past Monday during Game 1 between Vegas and Montreal, that record was tied.

As of the time of this article, the temperature outside of T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas is an astounding 115 degrees Fahrenheit.

For reference, the coldest temperature for a Montreal Canadiens game was -11.2 Fahrenheit set earlier this year in February in Winnipeg.

Of course, this won't just tie an NHL record. The predicted high heat level in Las Vegas would tie the all-time high temperature ever recorded. This is simply the latest in a pattern of record-setting temperatures in several areas in the Western United States.
