This just in, NHL Player Safety has suspended Vegas Golden Knights forward Chandler Stephenson three games for a vicious elbow on Los Angeles Kings defenceman Tobias Bjornfot.

Check it out:

Here's the infraction in question:

Pretty brutal, right? Stephenson makes a late hit and clearly goes out of his way to target Bjornfot with his elbow. This is a textbook call by NHL Player Safety, right? So how come superstar Connor McDavid got off scot free when he went WELL out of his way to deliver a nasty elbow on Montreal Canadiens forward Jesperi Kotkaniemi?

Remember this?

Hmmm... it's almost as if the NHL has different rules for different players. To be fair though, this has been the case for as long as I can remember. I mean, anyone out there remember Pavel Bure's wicked elbow to Shane Churla way back when?

Bure, a bonafide NHL superstar at that time, walked away with just a $500 fine... some things never change.
