The matchup that the hockey world wanted to see will indeed take place. Team USA and Team Canada will face-off for the gold medal in the Women's World Hockey Championship on Tuesday night.

Canada advanced to the championship game following their 4-0 semifinal victory over Switzerland on Monday in Calgary thanks to two goals from Mélodie Daoust. Renata Fast and Rebecca Johnston also scored for Canada, who remains undefeated in the tournament.

Meanwhile, Team USA will be looking for some revenge against their northern rivals, who defeated them earlier this week. Earlier today, they defeated Finland by a 3-0 final score thanks to goals from Alex Carpenter and Abbey Murphy; Kendall Coyne Schofield would hit the empty net to seal the win.

Should Team USA win, they'll tie Canada with ten gold medals.
