Trevor Lewis wants another shot.

As an unrestricted free agent, Lewis was still looking to sign a new deal for the 2021 season and finally on Friday, it has been revealed that the 33-year-old forward agreed to a professional tryout (PTO) contract with the Winnipeg Jets.

The report was confirmed by Sportsnet’s Chris Johnston.

The veteran forward spent his entire career with the Los Angeles Kings. He was selected in the first round, 17th overall by the Kings back in 2006 and played 674 games in their uniform.

He put up a total of 70 gaols and 163 points during his time with Los Angeles, where he also hoisted the Stanley Cup twice, in 2012 and 2014.

He gets another shot now with the Jets, who have been looking for depth to ensure a better playoff run this season. Lewis could certainly bring a great veteran presence and leadership role in the Jets’ dressing room if he cracks the roster after training camp.

The Jets are also inviting defenseman Jimmy Oligny as well as goalie Cole Kehler to training camp on professional tryouts.
