Tom Wilson gets destroyed when Scott Mayfield crushes him with his stick

New York Islanders’ Scott Mayfield may have done what many other NHL players dream to do on the ice on Tuesday night. 

At the end of the fist period of the Isles’ contest against the Washington Capitals, Mayfield crushed enforcer Tom Wilson with his stick, cross-checking him so hard that the stick broke in pieces.

The footage was trending during the game as most fans believed if Wilson had pulled such a move on Mayfield - or any other player for that matter - he would have been thrown out of the game. 

But since Wilson was the victim in this case, nothing was done as Mayfield was not sent to the penalty box for his sticky cross-check on the Capitals’ forward. 

However, the footage was very satisfying for some fans out there - and probably some rival players who tasted Wilson’s dirty ways in the past - to see the Caps’ player get some of his own medicine.
