On Monday night, Montreal Canadiens star goalie Carey Price was removed from the game against the Oilers after 20 minutes work and did not return only to see his team fall 4-1 to Edmonton.

At first, interim head coach Dominique Ducharme confirmed that Price was dealing with an upper-body injury, however it has just been confirmed that the netminder is suffering from a concussion and will miss at least a week of action as he attempts to recover…

While at first it was hard to determine how Price was determined, since he was intensively challenged in the first period by opponents, it seems now clear that he sustained the head injury on the hit by Alex Chiasson who collied with Price on an overturned goal.

You can see on the video below how the goalie’s head snaps back and as the second period kicked off, Price was nowhere to be found.

Fans were first worried that Price had re-aggravated a previous ailment, he who returned last Saturday from a six-game absence related to a lower-body injury, has a 12-6-5 record with a .903 save percentage this season.

However, it seems now worst than fans first imagined…

Allen posted a 2-4-0 record during Price’s last stretch of missed action, and finished Monday’s game with 25 saves on 28 shots through two periods of action.
