The Tkachuk brothers pen heartfelt tributes to the late Jimmy Hayes

There was more tragic news today out of the world of hockey, as we're dealing with the shocking passing of former Boston Bruins forward Jimmy Hayes at the young age of 31. 

Hayes was found in his Milton, MA home by police and first responders. While the official cause of death isn't yet known, police don't believe it to be of a suspicious nature. 

Almost immediately, several NHL clubs penned tributes to the late Hayes, along with several touching tributes from the Bruins, for whom he played two seasons. 

And among the NHL players who are offering their thoughts and condolences include brothers Matthew Tkachuk and Brady Tkachuk. 

"So devastated," wrote Brady on Twitter. "Jimmy was not only a role model to me but also to so many young hockey players in Boston. All my love to Kristen, Beau, Mac, and the entire Hayes family."

"Completely speechless and heartbroken!" wrote Matthew. "Wish I had the chance to tell Jimmy how much Brady and I looked up to him and Kevin throughout all the years. I know that Beau and Mac will grow up with the same larger than life and loving personality that he had! Rest easy! "

Hayes appeared in 334 games in the NHL for four teams. He scored a total of 54 goals and 109 points for the Blackhawks, Panthers, Bruins, and Devils. Since last playing professionally, Hayes had cohosted a podcast with fellow former NHLers Shane O’Brien and Scottie Upshall called “Missin Curfew". He was born in Dorchester, Massachusetts, and is survived by four siblings and his parents, Shelagh and Kevin Hayes Sr. as well as his wife and young sons.
