Team Russia’s great Igor Larionov mocks his own TV appearance on TSN

Team Russia head coach Igor Larionov was in the good mood on Saturday after his players managed to win their quarterfinal game over Germany, 2-1. 

It was a tough challenge against the Germans, and clearly the three-time Stanley Cup champion is in good spirits for the rest of the tournament, having some fun on social media after his team’s victory. 

Larionov posted a picture of his interview with TSN and made fun of his appearance by comparing it to a scene from Star Wars IV: A new hope. TSN is using technology to insert a visual on their guest, due to COVID-19 protocols, and Larionov felt that James Duthie and Bob McKenzie were Luke Skywalker and Obiwan Kenobi and he was, Princess Leia. 

He added the caption : same vibe.

You gotta love the humour of the NHL Hall of Famer and head coach of the Russian team. 

Some fans had jokes too, one of them saying that’s how Igor would appear in the opposing team’s crease.
