This is going to sound like a consolation price, however, it is important to mention Team Canada goalie Devon Levi’s hard work in this year’s World Juniors.

Despite the heartbreaking 2-0 loss at the hands of the American team in the gold medal game, Levi’s save percentage of 0.964 sets a new World Juniors record among goalies with 5+ games, beating the previous high mark of 0.961 established by Carey Price back in 2007. He ended the tournament with 134 saves on 139 shots faced overall.

His goals against average of 0.75 is also a new record, and Levi previously tied Justin Pogge for the shutout record with three (since tied again by Team USA’s Spencer Knight).

On top of that, Levi earned Top Goaltender honours at the World Juniors. It is so sad that all of his efforts were enough to bring the gold medal home. He was handed his silver medal by his captain Bowen Byram in a heartbreaking ceremony on Tuesday night.

Levi is turning heads and he is just a seventh round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft by the Florida Panthers. The team also selected his rival American goalie Knight with the 13th overall pick in 2019.

We can only imagine that all Panthers fans are excited for the future after  watching these World Juniors.ç

Congrats to Levi for these records and all of his hard work at the WJC.
