A tough break for a team that looked like a legit contender after last season.

The Dallas Stars have announced that goaltender Ben Bishop and forward Alex Radulov are out for the remainder of the season.

Check it out:

The 34 year old Bishop hasn't played a game since March 10th, 2020... pre-pandemic if you can believe it...

He's rehabbing a surgically repaired knee and hopes to be ready for the 2021-22 season, but let's be real... it's a long shot that he ever plays an NHL game again. And frankly, that's a damn shame. He's a three time Vezina Trophy finalist and he's one of the most underrated goaltenders of his generation. Here's hoping he's able to mount a comeback next season, but I'm not holding my breath.

As for Radulov, he's been limited to just 11 goals this season but put up an incredible four goals and 12 points. He tore an abdominal muscle last month and was hopeful to return for this season, but today's news seals his fate. The 34 year old Russian has one more season left on a deal that pays him $6.25 million per season.
