Snoop Dogg welcomes Kings rookie Quinton Byfield to the NHL

Los Angeles Kings head coach Todd McLellan confirmed earlier today that 2020 2nd overall pick Quinton Byfield will make his NHL debut this evening when the Kings take on the Anaheim Ducks.

Which reminds my of rapper Snoop Dogg's incredible welcome for Byfield after the Kings drafted him this past offseason.

Check it out:

The 18 year old Byfield has a stellar eight goals and 20 points in 30 AHL games with the Ontario Reign this season and absolutely tore up the OHL last season with 32 goals and 82 points in 45 games. Byfield will be just the fourth player from last summer's draft to play in the NHL this season following Alexis Lafrieniere, Tim Stuetzle and Jamie Drysdale. And while Kings fans are excited at what he can accomplish it's important to note that expectations should be low. He's just 18 years old after all, and even though he's a player with immense talent he's still very, very raw.

If you've ever seen Byfielf play his skill and physical abilities are apparent, but he clearly needs to refine his game a bit before he can truly shine. With the Kings no where near contention these days it looks like the youngster will get the time and patience he needs in order to fully develop.
