Shea Weber draws the ire of NHL Player Safety for slashing Nikita Kucherov

This just in, NHL Player Safety has fined Montreal Canadiens captain Shea Weber $5,000 for his slash on Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov.

I've got to say... is there a slash there? Yes, definitely. Does Kucherov go down like he was hit by sniper fire? Yup. 

I don't like the slash, but I hate the dive even more. I would have been happy to see both players handed a fine for their respective actions in this sequence. As it is though, Weber will pay his pittance and he'll come ready to play in Game 2. I can't see a measly $5,000 fine making a difference in the way that Weber approaches the game.
