After holding their training camp in Arizona and starting the 2021 season with the Arizona Coyotes' Gila River Arena as their home rink, the San Jose Sharks are finally, mercifully, heading home to the comfortable confies of SAP Center in Santa Clara County, California.

But here's the thing, the Sharks won't be heading home just yet. They'll still play two home games in Arizona against the Vegas Golden Knights early next month, but will return home for February 13th when they take on the Anaheim Ducks. The plan is to remain in San Jose for the rest of there for the rest of the season.

“After consultation with the National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players’ Association, the Sharks Feb. 1 and 3 games will be played in Glendale, AZ as previously announced,” said Sharks spokesman Ben Guerrero. “While we are pleased to have received permission for the team to return to Santa Clara County, there are numerous health and safety issues – both from the County and League level – that need to be implemented to ensure the safety of the returning players and staff.”

It's worth noting that fans will not be permitted to attend games in San Jose.
