Rumour: Sabres to ask Taylor Hall to accept a trade

Sure sounds more like a fact now after hearing GM Adams speak!

The trade deadline is less than a month away and it feels like Buffalo Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams would prefer for the entire season to be done already. On Wednesday morning, he fired head coach Ralph Krueger and assistant Steve Smith, and met with reporters later for a conference.

The poor GM sighed so much, reporters won’t be able to write all of his long breaths into their analysis. He did however say something that will go wild in trade chatter as he explained how he is considering moving star player Taylor Hall ahead of the April 12 deadline.

Adams mentioned how he’s been in touch with Hall’s agent Darren Ferris and all options are being considered.

“We’re open to anything. My job is to do everything and anything to make this franchise move in the right direction.”

“Open lines of communication” with Hall’s agent. Doesn’t sound like those negotiations are in-depth at this stage.”

According to insider Pierre LeBrun, this means that the Sabres could talk to Hall about a trade and ask him to waive his no-movement clause.

Hall appears to have avoided serious injury after he received a slap shot to the face from teammate Colin Miller last night in the Sabres’ 12th straight loss.

Hall signed a one-year, $8 million contract in free agency, but has struggled through the first half of the season, only scoring two goals and 16 points through 27 games.

Will he jump on the chance to play for a contender this postseason and get moved again?
