Rumour: Major trade in the works between Kraken and Rangers
Twitter

Most of the Seattle Kraken have been made public since this morning, however, we still aren’t sure which players will be taken from the Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings or New York Rangers.

For the latter, it sounds like the pick could come on forward Colin Blackwell, however insider Rick Carpiniello believes a trade might be in the works between the Kraken and Blue Shirts.

“There could be a trade in the works (for D Mark Giordano?) that changes the pick and allows Rangers to keep Blackwell.”

TSN’s Salim Valji reported earlier today that the Kraken had selected captain and veteran defenseman Mark Giordano from the Calgary Flames.

Giordano had nine goals and 26 points in 56 games with the Flames this season. The 2019 Norris Trophy winner is entering the final year of his current contract, carrying a cap hit of $6.75 million.

It remains to be seen if the Kraken has indeed selected him in order to move him around later on.

While a lot of the Kraken’s selections have been revealed, we will only know if trades are coming later tonight during the expansion draft.

This is one to keep a close eye on.
