According to a report from Vegas Golden Knights insider Jesse Granger of The Athletic, it looks like the Golden Knights will turn back to goaltender Marc Andre Fleury for Game 5 tonight despite a strong showing from Robin Lehner in Game 4 of the series.

Check it out:

Typically the goaltender who receives the majority of action at the game day skate and the goaltender who leaves the ice first is the goaltender between the pipes come game time. However, it looks like Lehner and Fleury have decided to have a little fun with this.

Still, it seems that most media analysts are predicting Fleury back in net for the Golden Knights this evening.

I've got to say... I'm a bit surprised. Not because Fleury isn't deserving of another shot, but because Lehner played so well in Game 4 that I figured head coach Peter DeBoer would hand Lehner the net until he himself stumbles like Fleury did. Fleury has been outstanding this post-season but, of course, he did stumble in Game 3 giving up the game-tying goal with under two minutes left to play with a pretty brutal mis-play behind his own net. He'd go on to give up the game winner in OT and DeBoer gave him the night off for Game 4.

DeBoer comes out looking like a bit of an evil genius with his decision to to go with Lehner in Game 4, but I wonder if he's overthinking things a bit for Game 5? Can he get lucky again? If Fleury serves up another gaffe like he did in Game 4 then you can bet that a lot of Vegas fans will be calling out DeBoer for his decision. At the same time though, I suppose this is the luxury of having two capable #1 goaltenders? It's not like DeBoer is flipping back and forth between two struggling backups in an effort to eke out a couple wins. He has the choice of two Vezina calibre netminders who have both had the luxury of resting themselves throughout the course of the regular season. Not a bad situation for Vegas and Coach DeBoer.
