Report: NHL to shut down Wild for at least a week

Another day, another team shut down by the NHL due to protocol.

According to a report from Minnesota Wild insider Sarah McLellan of the Star Tribune, the team's schedule for the next week will be postponed due to an outbreak of COVID-19 amongst the team's players.

Sure enough, five players were added to the Wild's COVID-19 protocol list earlier today with Nick Bjugstad, Marcus Johansson, Joel Eriksson Ek, Jared Spurgeon, Nick Bonino joining Marcus Foligno in self-quarantine. It's also worth noting that Colorado Avalanche forward Tyson Jost was added to COVID-19 protocol after facing the Wild just yesterday. 

More to come on this, including official confirmation from the league and the team but all signs point to at least a seven day shutdown for the Wild, similar to the situation the Buffalo Sabres and New Jersey Devils currently find themselves in.
