Report: NHL players told to plan for New Year's at training camp

This just in from longtime NHL insider Larry Brooks of The New York Times, players are reportedly being told to plan for training camp to begin shortly after New Year's and for season openers to begin January 13th - 16th.

As NHL, PA continue to work on protocols and '20-21 regs, players are being told to expect training camp to begin shortly after New Year's and teams have been told to expect season openers between Jan. 13 and 16. So for now--status quo.

I think at this point it's safe to assume that the league will not be playing exhibition games prior to the 2021 season. Frankly, rightly so. Imagine having to sit through half a dozen or so meaningless games after the league has been dormant for half nearly a year.
