According to a report from TSN hockey insider Frank Seravalli, the NHL is hoping to stage an all-American triple header for opening night tentatively scheduled for January 13th, 2021.

Check it out:

As mentioned in his Tweet, Seravalli predicts the three games will feature the Tampa Bay Lightning raising their Stanley Cup banner before taking on the Chicago Blackhawks, then the New York Rangers and Boston Bruins will do battle as division rivals for the first time since 1974. Finally the Colorado Avalanche and St. Louis Blues will do battle out west. Not a bad lineup of hockey... not bad at all.

Of course, we'd love to see something similar for the Canadian division, as well. Who wouldn't get up for Leafs and Habs followed by the Battle of Alberta?

You know what though? At this point I'd settle for a Timbits Tyke game... can we just drop the puck already?
