A discerning Colorado Avalanche fan seems to have uncovered a jersey change for the team in 2021-22 and, frankly, I love it.

You may recall that the Avs ditched their black helmets, pants and gloves last season opting instead to go with a light blue colour.

Here's how the team looked prior to 2020:

Personally, I'm a big fan of the changes... but there was one thing that always irked me about the redesign. On the Avs' away jerseys, their uniform numbers and names were still in black like so:

Now, it looks like the team may be ditching the black for blue once again.

I've got to say... that looks really, really, REALLY sharp to me.

I know that some fans prefer the black to the blue because it evokes memories of Joe Sakic, Peter Forsberg, Patrick Roy and all the legendary players to play for the franchise, but to me the black always looked off. Frankly, it looked like a beer league team. Ditching the black entirely is a smart move. Thoughts?
