Detroit Red Wings goaltender Thomas Greiss is gearing up for his second year with the team after enjoying a strong finish to last season. And he's recently released his latest mask artwork - and we're certainly loving it. 

He's ditched the traditional ferocious gorilla that he's featured in every single of his past mask artwork creations, and in its place is an octopus. The mask's left side features a tribute to Conan, the special operations military working dog in the United States 1st SFOD-D (Delta Force) who played a role in the raid that resulted in the death of an ISIS leader in 2019. He even earned a medal and a plaque from former President Donald Trump during a special visit to the White House. 

On the backplate is a tribute to his home country of Germany, as well as a nod to his work with Autism Awareness. Check it out for yourself below:
