The Detroit Red Wings are prepping for the upcoming 2021-22 NHL Season, and they'll be looking to continue to take the next step in the rebuilding process that has seen GM Steve Yzerman put his mark on the franchise that he starred for on the ice for so many years.

Meanwhile, captain Dylan Larkin is trending in the right direction in his recovery following a neck injury that forced him to miss the final eight games of the 2020-21 campaign thanks to a crosscheck from Dallas Stars captain Jamie Benn.

So how is he feeling?

“I feel great," he said at the start of training camp. "I haven’t thought about it much today which is a good sign. I just think for myself, why take a risk right now? I want to go into the season healthy like I am right now.”

Yzerman has continued his work rebuilding the team in his image, which includes several new young faces within the organization who will be fighting for roster spots.

“These guys are fighting for spots on the team," Larkin said.

Among the young players in northern Michigan right now include 4th overall selection in the 2020 Draft last year Lucas Raymond, as well as 2019 6th overall draft pick Moritz Seider.

"He's a special player," Larkin said of Seider.
