Rangers have no coach, but now lead 9-0 over the Flyers after two periods!

This is insane!

Earlier today, it was announced that the New York Rangers’ entire coaching staff was unavailable for tonight’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers because of COVID-19 protocols. That includes head coach David Quinn and his assistant coaches Jacques Martin, David Oliver, and Greg Brown. The coaching staff from AHL’s Hartford Wolf Puck is coming in instead behind the bench. Hartford coach Kris Knoblauch, associate Gord Murphy, and Rangers associate GM Chris Drury will be behind the bench tonight. Knoblauch will serve as the acting head coach.

Everyone freaked out and thought the Blue Shirts would be in trouble.

Hell no.

The Rangers have scored nine goals in the first two periods of the contest.

We don’t know what to say about the poor Flyers. And we wonder how Coach Quinn feels about this too.

It does not feel like the Rangers' staff was pulled from the game, but the Flyers were!

In all seriousness, it is a good spot to be if you're Kris Knoblauch. He is a rising coach and will get attention after this game, no doubt. That's a great ay of proving you can inspire a team even if you were called in hours before the contest.

It ended there as the Rangers won 9-0.

Check out all nine goals:
