According to a report from Sportsnet's Gene Principe, Edmonton Oilers forward Jesse Puljujarvi isn't taking any sh** from anybody...

Despite walking away from the team over a year ago, Puljujarvi came to terms with the Oilers on a two year deal earlier this offseason. Now he's back in training camp and he's not looking for a free ride this time around. According to Principe, Puljujarvi got into a heated battle drill with teammate Alex Chiasson that almost came to blows.

Check it out:

Honestly, I like to hear that. For all the talk that Puljujarvi is aloof and "just doesn't get it", stuff like this proves that deep down he's a competitor. After all, you don't just fall into the 4th overall spot in the NHL Draft by being a care-free guy who floats around the ice. Again, stuff like this just proves that Puljujarvi does care and maybe he's got a bit of a chip on his shoulder coming into the season?

If Puljujarvi manages to establish himself as a legitimate top 6 option for the Oilers this season, it would be fantastic news. No one is taking Leon Draisaitl's or Connor McDavid's ice time away, but if Puljujarvi can steal some time from players like Zack Kassian, Kailer Yamamoto and Chiasson himself, it would be a huge boost to the Oilers' depth.
