On today's episode of the Spittin' Chiclets podcast with former NHLers Paul "BizNasty" Bissonnette and Ryan Whitney welcomed NBC analyst Pierre McGuire and managed to get Pierre to finally spill the beans on which NHL teams have interviewed him the past few years. You may recall that Pierre's name has popped up a few times with regards to vacant GM positions across the NHL, but no one had been able to confirm his interest until today.

From the podcast:

Bissonnette: “Your name’s popped up for a few GM jobs… that fire obviously still burns. Are you going to keep trying to get back in as far as a manager’s job?”
McGuire: “I don’t think you ever really apply for those jobs. They sort of search you out and that’s what’s kind of happened in my situation. I’ve never applied for any jobs. Owners will call you, managers will call you, presidents of hockey operations will call you, friends that you know that might own teams will call you. But I’ve never applied for any of those jobs, I’m really happy with what I’m doing.”

Then finally... Pierre spills the beans:

“I’ll tell you the truth, I was runner up to Marc Bergevin in Montreal and that was heartbreaking. That’s my hometown. But Marc’s done a good job.”
“And the other one… it came down to Jimmy Rutherford  and myself  for the job (in Pittsburgh) before Jimmy took it. I was really interested in that one.”

Could you imagine Pierre McGuire as the GM of le Blue, Blanc et Rouge? Or... how about as Sidney Crosby's boss in Pittsburgh? Insanity.
