Pettersson discloses his injury, talks about contract negotiations and potentially “playing elsewhere”

With the Vancouver Canucks officially wrapping up their season yesterday, the team met with the media earlier today to break things down and talk about the future heading into the offseason.

As you might expect the majority of questions were for budding superstar Elias Pettersson. Pettersson hasn't played since suffering an undisclosed injury in early March, but today he finally opened up on the nature of his injury.

Sure, he'll be good to go for next season but will he be in Vancouver next season? 

Pettersson is without a contract and his agent reportedly has not had any negotiations with GM Jim Benning. There's some belief out there that Pettersson, along with a large number of Canucks roster players, aren't happy with the team's direction under Benning and would like to see a management change before inking a long-term commitment. To that though, Pettersson said there should be no concern. "This is where I want to be," he says.
