Laine about to be traded?

It may be much ado about nothing but Winnipeg Jets star forward Patrik Laine has certainly created a buzz in the hockey world this morning.

After leaving practice early on Sunday with an undisclosed injury Laine was back out on the ice on Monday prior to his Winnipeg Jets facing off against the Toronto Maple Leafs later in the evening. This gave some the belief that Laine would be good to go when it comes to facing the Leafs, but that may not actually be the case.

NHL insider Chris Johnston now reports that Laine left the ice "pretty quickly" and when you consider the fact that Laine has been heavily embroiled in trade rumors as of late this has raised some eyebrows.

Interestingly enough NHL reporter Mark Masters is reporting that Laine left the ice before head coach Paul Maurice signaled that practice was officially underway, so it may be that Laine was simply out there to test whatever injury he suffered the day prior.

Maurice is schedule to speak to reports following the practice, so we will have updates to bring you when he speaks to the media.
