Patrik Laine gets dropped by Brandon Hagel!

It would seem as though Patrik Laine is starting to adjust to his new environment in Columbus.

On Saturday night Laine and his Blue Jackets were facing off against the Chicago Blackhawks and Laine would get heavily involved in the game very early on. After taking a big time hit from Chicago Blackhawks forward Brandon Hagel in the neutral zone, Laine would bounce back up and exchange a few words with Hagel before dropping his gloves for a rare fight. 

The Blue Jackets bench immediately erupted to their feet in response and Laine seemed to get the better of his smaller opponent in the early going, but it wouldn't be long before Hagel would turn the tables in a big way.

The 22 year old Blackhawk didn't land as many shots as Laine during the exchange but when he did they had a tremendous impact on the Blue Jackets forward. The end of the fight came off the back of one of those shots, the biggest one of the fight by far, a huge right hand that sent the big Finnish forward crumbling to the ice in a heap. 

To his credit Laine would quickly regain his feet, but it was clear that he had been shaken up by the big blow from Hagel.
