Edmonton Oilers general manager Ken Holland was a busy man today, doing a bit of roster gymnastics to get his team's opening night lineup under the NHL's 23 man maximum.

In total Holland made eight transactions today, moving quite a few players onto short term and long term injury reserve.

Check out how it all breaks down below.

Placed on Injured Non-Roster:

Josh Archibald, Dylan Holloway, Dmitri Samorukov

Placed on Long-Term Injured Reserve:

Oscar Klefbom

Alex Stalock

Placed on Injured Reserve:

William Lagesson

Demoted to AHL Bakersfield Condors:

Kyle Turris

Recalled from AHL Bakersfield Condors

Philip Broberg

That's a looooot of injuries to start the season. My bigger concern though is... what on Earth happened to Kyle Turris the past few seasons? It's not like he's terribly old at just 32 years old, but his game has fallen off an absolute cliff since signing his big $6 million annual contract with the Nashville Predators. The native of New Westminster, BC put up a career high 24 goals and 64 points with the Ottawa Senators in 2014-15, but he managed just two goals and five points with the Oilers last season. That's... that's quite a fall from grace.
