The National Hockey League regular season is now just days away. It is one of the most exciting times of the year for hockey fans as they get a closer look at some of the new talent their teams are developing as well as some of the new NHL stars of the future that will make the roster for the first time, but unfortunately for players it can be a very difficult time as well.

Every single year at this time of the season there are a number of players who learn that their team has opted to place them on waivers, effectively leaving their careers in limbo. It is no doubt a hectic 24 hour period for every player that goes through the waivers process, especially considering the sheer number of different possibilities that lay ahead for them during that period.

On Saturday morning a whopping 25 players learned that they would be among the next group of players to be waived as teams around the league wind down their training camps. There are some notable names on the list and, like every player who is ever put in this position, one has to wonder where they might end up by the time the waiver process for today has been completed. We'll know the answer to those questions tomorrow at noon when the official waiver report comes in, but for now here is the list of players that are up for grabs.
