According to a report from San Jose Sharks insider A.J. Perez, the NHL's investigation into the gambling allegations levied against Evander Kane by estranged wife Anna Kane was "stalled out."

Check it out:

Earlier this offseason Anna made a series of social media posts alleging that Kane is essentially an unfit parent, a deadbeat husband and an addicted gambler. Anna alleges that Evander made illegal bets on NHL games, including betting on his own team's game.

Perez's report went on to say that NHL investigators have so far been unable to interview Anna. It's unclear why, however. Perez's sources also say that an in-depth examination of betting trends for Sharks games last season didn’t show any abnormalities.

Anna filed for divorce in July and in that filing, Evander denies that he bet on the NHL. “These allegations are completely false. If these allegations were true, they would destroy my career,” Kane wrote in the filing.

It's unclear what happens with the NHL's investigation at this point, but I can't imagine that this is where things end. If Evander did in fact make illegal bets on NHL games, it's up to Anna to come forward with proof. But at the same time If she refuses to participate in the investigation, I'm not sure that there's any way that the league can move forward with punishment for Evander.
