NHL force to postpone game on Monday due to inclement weather conditions.

The weather gods have not been kind to the National Hockey League this year.

On Monday the NHL announced that it has been forced to postpone today's game between the Los Angeles Kings and the St. Louis Blues after inclement weather in Colorado forced the Kings to remain grounded following their loss on Sunday night against the Colorado Avalanche. The weather conditions prevented the Kings from flying out of Denver, which they were scheduled to do in order to return home to Los Angeles ahead of facing the Blues this evening. 

The league has not announced when the game will now take place, and it sounds like we're just going to have to wait and see how more of this season plays out before we get an answer on that front. Given the games that have been cancelled already as a result of covid-19 and a variety of positive tests, this could not come at a worse time for the league.

As I mentioned this is not the first time that the weather gods have been unkind to the NHL this year, with them experiencing a complete disaster in Lake Tahoe for their outdoor game this year. At that time the weather was too nice, causing the ice that the league had prepared for the outdoor game to melt, which resulted in NBC delaying the game until later that evening likely costing the league a ton of viewership and perhaps even some major sponsorship dollars.

There has been talk of postponed games perhaps not being played out if the teams involved in them are eliminated from playoff contention, however that has not been officially confirmed as of yet and we likely won't know for sure until later on in the season.
