NHL All Star offers to get Brady Tkachuk “in mid season form in no time!”

What kind of training does he have in mind?

For several weeks fans of both the Vancouver Canucks and the Ottawa Senators heard of the ongoing training sessions in Michigan featuring Canucks forward Elias Pettersson, Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes, and Senators forward Brady Tkachuk.

The three young players were training as they all held out of training camp, awaiting new deals from their respective teams, and I suppose that it gave them some common ground in their preseason preparations.

Unfortunately for Brady Tkachuk however he has now found himself without any training partners due to the fact that both Hughes and Pettersson have reportedly agreed to terms on new deals with the Canucks. This has put Tkachuk in a rather unenviable situation, and no doubt a lonely one at that, but it sounds like at least one former National Hockey League All Star is ready to come to his rescue.

On Saturday night long time NHL enforcer John Scott took to social media to offer up his services to the young Senators forward, suggesting that he would train with Tkachuk in order to get him in shape for when he does eventually start the season.

"Hey Brady Tkachuk, I saw that you lost your training partners. Jump on 75N and come train with me big guy," wrote Scott on social media. " I’ll get you in mid season form in no time!"

While the idea of getting training help from a player like John Scott may seem funny to you at first glance, you have to remember that, in spite of his role in the NHL as an enforcer, Scott is a legitimate professional athlete. I have no doubt that he has continued to remain in good physical condition following his NHL career, and you would be hard pressed to find a more physical opponent to test yourself against in the preseason. Combine that with the fact that Scott could serve as a teacher when it comes to other important skills in the sport of hockey and suddenly the idea isn't entirely crazy.

That being said I don't think that this is likely to happen at all. Tkachuk is no doubt being extremely cautious when it comes to his preseason preparation, and that probably doesn't include any trips up 75N.
