Well hi-diddly-ho there!

The man they call "Ned" is officially a member of the Detroit Red Wings, and could prove to be one of the steals of the offseason. Alex Nedeljkovic finished last season with the Carolina Hurricanes as a Calder Trophy finalist, and he was acquired by GM Steve Yzerman in a late July trade that sent contract rights of soon-to-be RFA Jonathan Bernier and the 94th overall selection in the 2021 NHL Draft to Carolina. Detroit then immediately signed Nedeljkovic to a two-year contract worth $3 million per season.

It's the latest stroke of genius for the Red Wings general manager, who once again proves why he's one of hockey's best at the position. He took full advantage of the Hurricanes, who didn't want to pay the goaltender who won them several playoff games this past spring what he wanted and lowballed him with an offer of half of what he'd sign for with Detroit.

And he's unveiled the mask that he'll be wearing in his first season in Hockeytown. His artist is none other than Ray Bishop of Bishop Designs, who has designed masks for the likes of Jimmy Howard, Ryan Miller, Al Montoya, Dominik Hasek, and many others.
