On Thursday, Vegas defenseman Alex Pietrangelo was added to the NHL’s COVID-19 list, hours after a game between the Golden Knights and St. Louis Blues was postponed due to some positive COVID-19 results within the Vegas organization.

On Friday, the NHL announced that more games were getting postponed as games against the San Jose Sharks on Feb. 1 and Feb. 3 were both postponed. The games were scheduled to take place in Arizona. The Sharks have yet to hold a home opener in 2021 because health restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic in Santa Clara County, California, include a ban on contact sports.

The Golden Knights temporarily closed all their training facilities. Three teams (Dallas, Carolina, and now Las Vegas) have actually had to postpone games so far this season.

On Tuesday, the team’s entire coaching staff was isolated after a positive COVID-19 test among that group. Despite that, the team took the ice against the Blues in a 5-4 shootout loss with general manager Kelly McCrimmon and some AHL coaches stepping behind the bench.

On Friday, Sportsnet’s Chris Johnston revealed that three members of the  Knights’ coaching staff are currently in isolation while Pietrangelo is on the COVID Protocol absence list as well.
