Huge for the Penguins.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have surged in the second half of the season and although they are already standing atop the National Hockey League's East Division, they have just gotten even better.

According to comments made by Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan on Monday afternoon, Penguins star forward Evgeni Malkin will finally make his return to the lineup after missing a huge number of games due to injury this season. Malkin has been sidelined with what was reported as a lower body injury and missed a whopping 23 straight games as a result, but he will be in the lineup this evening when the Penguins take on interstate rivals the Philadelphia Flyers.

Not only is getting Malkin back in the lineup huge news for the Penguins, but this is big news for Malkin himself as well. There's no doubt that a layoff of this magnitude will take some time on the ice to fully recover from, and with a few games remaining in the regular season he will now have time to get back up to game speed before the Penguins head into a playoff run.
