Mike Milbury is out at NBC

This just in, according to multiple online reports longtime NBC broadcaster Mike Milbury has NOT had his contract renewed by the company, effectively cutting him loose and making him a free agent.

NBC Sports announces NHL commentator lineup for season:
- Biggest news: Mike Milbury OUT as a studio analyst.
- Kenny Albert + Mike Tirico will be 2 of 7 PxP analysts succeeding Mike 'Doc' Emrick.
- Some like Eddie Olczyk, Anson Carter + Keith Jones will work both games/studio.

Ding dong the witch is dead!

Milbury has long been behind the analysts desk at NBC and, frankly, the game has simply passed him by. Sure, I can get behind Milbury when he gets on a rant about the "wussification" of modern hockey, but sometimes this guy just has no idea what he's talking about. He puts his foot in his mouth more than a newborn baby and he's just simply fallen out of touch with modern day hockey and modern day hockey fans. I'd much rather see Keith Jones, Anson Carter or Patrick Sharp analyst things in between periods than Milbury the dinosaur. So long, Mike... don't let the door hit you on the way out.
