Marshawn Lynch, rebranded Shawn Gretzky, laces up the skates and hits the ice

Here's something you don't see everyday: A superstar athlete lacing up the skates and going for a twirl around the ice.

Look, you know it... I know it... NHL athletes are the best, most complete athletes in professional sports. With all due respect to the NBA, MLB and NFL, put an NHLer in any of those sports and they can perform competently. Put any other athlete in a hockey game though... well there are Division 10 beer leaguers who would skate laps around them. The fact of the matter is that hockey is one Hell of a tough game.

So kudos to a guy like Lynch for stepping up and giving it a shot. He met up with former NHLer and HDA board member Akim Aliu for a quick lesson or two. And of course, you know that Lynch had some smack talk for anyone thinking he's some ankle bender.
