The Toronto Maple Leafs got busy on Friday, making a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Toronto shipped out defenseman Mikko Lehtonen in return for goalie Veini Vehviläinen.

On Friday, Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe confirmed that goaltender Jack Campbell remains day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Keefe added his level of concern over Campbell’s injury is “low” and Friday was another good day for him on the ice.Campbell was originally hurt on Jan. 24 against the Calgary Flames but returned for Toronto’s win over Edmonton on Feb. 28.

Hours later, this trade was taking place.

The Jackets are getting 27-year-old defenseman Lehtonen, who has played in nine games so far this season for the Leafs, recording three assists. He last played back on on Feb. 24, tallying just 9 minutes and 50 seconds of play against the Calgary Flames.

As for the goalie help the Leafs just acquired, Vehviläinen is 24 years old and made his NHL debut and played in one game earlier this month, stopping three of four shots in nearly 11 minutes of action.

We expect both players to have to undergo quarantine before joining their respective teams as per the NHL's health and safety guidelines.
