The Tampa Bay Lightning came out on top in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup final over the Montreal Canadiens on Monday night, but might have sustained a tough blow in the process.

On Tuesday, Lightning head coach Jon Cooper told reporters that forward Alex Killorn’s status for Game 2 was uncertain.

“Hard to say right now, but I’d throw him into that day-to-day category,” Cooper said.

The mysterious injury might have come after Killorn blocked a shot from Habs defenseman Jeff Petry with his left ankle in the second period of Monday’s Game 1. He ended up playing just one shift in the third period.

After the game, Cooper had no update on the veteran player, and we will have to wait until tomorrow night prior to the game to see if Killorn is dressed to compete.

He has eight goals and nine assists for 17 points in 19 games for the Lightning so far these playoffs. He posted 15 goals and 18 assists in 56 games during the regular season.

The Bolts and Canadiens continue their series on Wednesday evening with Game 2 going from Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay.
