The Tampa Bay Lightning has decided to make sense for the second round of the postseason. ESPN’s Greg Wyshynski reports on Friday that the Lightning will no longer enforce a policy that restricts fans from wearing gear supporting other NHL clubs in their premium seating areas.

The Bolts had no other choice: a viral video featuring Panthers fans confronted by arena staff had some many people reacting, the team needed to remove this stupid policy.

The video shows arena staff asking a father and his poor 11-year-old son to remove their Florida Panthers’ jersey. The father argues that he was told the opposite team’s jersey was allowed, however, he clearly wasn’t aware of that ridiculous policy. The fan explained that he spoke to someone named Crystal Ortiz, who informed him that he and his son could sit in their seats but they wouldn’t be allowed into the Chase Club. However, two employees seen on the footage let him know they were still in violation.

The Amalie Arena staff tells them they have two options : to remove their jerseys or to get a refund for their tickets and be forced to leave the rink.

The Lightning has had this policy since at least 2015 and other teams have similar rules.

Finally, the Lightning has made it official on Friday that the policy is no longer in order and so we could get to see fans with Carolina Hurricanes jerseys for the second round.
