Leafs make two changes to their lineup ahead of Game 2 against the Habs.

The Toronto Maple Leafs lost their captain John Tavares in Game 1 of their first round playoff series against the Montreal Canadiens, so unsurprisingly this has forced some relatively big changes to their line up as a result.

On Saturday, after the official lineup was unveiled, there were multiple notable changes to the lineup including some players swapping positions as well as some additions and subtractions from the forward group. The first and most obvious change is that Tavares himself will be out of the lineup this evening with veteran forward Alex Galchenyuk stepping up to the plate and taking the captain's spot on the second line. Galchenyuk however will be on the wing which means that veteran forward Nick Foligno will be moving off the wing and will be taking Tavares' spot at center for Game 2 with forward William Nylander maintaining his spot on that second line.

Another notable change to the forward group will be the absence of veteran forward Riley Nash who appears to have been made a healthy scratch for this one. Nash centered the Maple Leafs' third line in Game 1 of the series but he has now been replaced with Pierre Engvall seemingly the man being called upon to take his spot in the lineup. Much like in the case with Galchenyuk however Engvall will not be taking his place at center, but will instead replace forward Alex Kerfoot on the wing while Kerfoot moves over to center to take the position previously occupied by Nash.

The defensive pairings in this one will remain the same and goaltender Jack Campbell will be getting the start in goal this evening as well.
