The Toronto Maple Leafs have been busy on the ice, however, their upcoming schedule is less intense which means there could be time for a trade. It has been mentioned more than once that the Leafs would like to add depth up front, but it seems now that the desire is growing. Insider Elliotte Friedman reported on Friday on the air of 630CHED that the Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas is going to go hunting for a top-6 winger, adding thta Toronto is set to go all in on the season.

In his latest 31 Thoughts column, Friedman shared some more information on what Dubas has been up to and what could be in the cards for the Maple Leafs, explaining how the team is looking at trade targets - from up front to the back end “on half the league.” Check it out:

“After Thursday, Toronto has five games in 14 days. It would not be a stunner if the Maple Leafs tried to make their move during this time to minimize quarantine on any player coming from the U.S. In the last week, Toronto’s been rumoured to be in on half the league, from Mattias Ekholm to Filip Forsberg to Mikael Granlund to Eric Staal to Marc Staal. We will see what GM Kyle Dubas decides to do.”

You’re right, Elliotte : we will see what GM Kyle Dubas decides to do. And we cannot wait.

Is this the year for the Maple Leafs?
