With the National Hockey League’s trade deadline fast approaching, it does not take a whole lot for fans to get excited about possible rumours.

And so, what did you expect what cameras caught Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas in attendance for tonight’s Senators - Calgary Flames game in Ottawa on Wednesday night?

The Maple Leafs are believed to be going after the best forward available ahead of April 12, and the Flames could be going after a major overhaul if the team cannot reach the postseason.

Earlier this month, NHL insider Scott Burnside of The Athletic imagined a blockbuster trade that could take place between the Maple Leafs and Flames. He suggested that the Flames could be “in need of a shakeup that extends beyond the coaching position” and to do so by trading forward Johnny Gaudreau to Toronto.

Gaudreau has been impressive to watch and does not hold any clause getting him safe in Calgary and might be one the best trade chips the Flames have.

Not sure if this is the player Dubas is watching tonight, but you have to believe trade chatter has gotten louder in Canada.
